Letters and Papers

My letters, deeds, and papers pages are a work in progress.  To date only a few of my letters and papers have been added in the nested pages below.

Jacob Poe wrote to the US army Quartermaster requesting compensation from the loss of the str Clara Poe.  Interesting.

William A Calhoon suffered from consumption.  He wrote to his sister and brother only months before he died in Georgetown, PA.

Adam Poe’s letter was responding to questions from Lyman C Draper from Philadelphia, PA.  The responses provide interesting insight into the conditions on the frontier during the Revolutionary War and the Indian War.  Adam was the son of Andrew Poe, the Indian fighter.
